Bus Crash Kills One In Kentucky

An early morning bus crash claimed the life of one person and injured as many as 66 other people. The bus was traveling from a family reunion held in Buffalo, New York, back to Alabama when it crashed in Kentucky. It is believed that the driver fell asleep at the wheel causing the bus to crash. The accident occurred on Interstate 65.

Over Prescribing Of OxyContin Leads To License Suspension

A Highland Park doctor has had his medical license suspended after he allegedly prescribed 20,000 doses of OxyContin and other painkillers to his patients, which led to at least two deaths. Three of Dr. Gerald Saul Kane’s patients are dead and at least two died from drug overdoses. It is believed that Kane prescribed large amounts of prescription medication to these patients over a short period of time.

Six Flags Ride Amputates Girls Feet

A thirteen year old girl had her feet amputated when she was riding the Superman ride at Kentucky’s Six Flags theme park. The ride rises 154 feet above ground and then drops riders at a rate of 54 miles per hour until stopping just 20 feet before they hit the ground. Witnesses have said that they believe a cable snapped and became wrapped around the girl’s feet causing them to be amputated at the ankle.

Accident Kills Two At Water Reclamation Plant

Two men who were working at the Stickney Water Reclamation Plant died Wednesday. The men were subcontractors for Metropolitan Biosolids Management. It is believed that the two men were trapped in a hole and at least one of the men may have drown, although there has been no confirmation regarding the drowning at this time.

The families of the men killed in the accident may be able to take legal action for the wrongful deaths of the men. The employer of the men and the water reclamation plant may both be liable for their deaths.

3 People From Chicago Dead After Iowa Car Crash

A crash on Saturday near Williamsburg, Iowa has claimed the lives of three people and injured three others. Mary Ann Schmitz, Jeremy Smith and Kassidy Smith all died Saturday as a result of the injuries they received in the crash. The accident occurred on Interstate 80 Saturday morning.

Girl Receives Kidney Transplant After Samonella Poisoning

Krystina Brugh of Indiana received a kidney from her father on Monday. The eleven year old girl developed kidney failure after she ate contaminated peanut butter. The peanut butter was linked to the salmonella outbreak reported in February affecting ConAgra peanut butter. The family filed a lawsuit recently against ConAgra for manufacturing and selling the contaminated peanut butter. Several other lawsuits have also been filed throughout the country. If you believe you became ill from the eating contaminated peanut butter you should contact an attorney immediately.

1 Killed, 2 Injured Near Gurnee, Illinois In Car Accident

Matthew Garbo’s car collided with a limousine in the early hours of Sunday morning. The crash led to Garbo’s death and critically injured two passengers in Garbo’s car. The limo driver was not seriously injured.

There is no information at this time regarding who was at fault for the accident, but the injured passengers may be able to recover for their injuries. Matthew Garbo’s family may also be able to recover for Garbo’s wrongful death if it is determined the limo driver was at fault for the accident.

Chicago Man Dies Of Injuries After Being Hit By SUV Accident

Hector F. Aguirre was struck by an SUV over the weekend while he was walking in the 8400 block of West North Avenue. Aguirre died on Wednesday from the injuries he sustained. Aguirre was 73 and is survived by his wife and 5 children and his 11 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.

The only information available at this time from the police is that the SUV driver did stop after the accident. It was not a hit and run. Hector Aguirre’s family may be entitled to file a wrongful death claim against the driver of the SUV and should contact an attorney for more information.

Chicago Tour Bus Accident On Skyway

A Tuesday evening accident on the Chicago Skyway between a private charter bus and a semi-trailer truck sent 17 people to the hospital. The bus, owned by Chicago Entertainment Tour, was following too closely when it crashed into the truck. At least 13 people were released from the hospital as of Wednesday morning.

The injured passengers may be able to take legal action against the bus driver and Chicago Entertainment Tour for the injuries they suffered in the accident.
